Strategies to Incorporate and Support Indigenous Knowledge into Teacher Training Education: Lessons and Insights for Higher Education Institution's in Namibia

Purpose: The Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030) makes references to indigenous peoples and the significant role knowledge play in achievement of Goals. However despite literature on benefits knowledge, is often overlooked education most especially training teachers. Teachers are expected have greatest appreciation cultural diversity create multicultural teaching materials that take into account their students' backgrounds work give marginalized groups a sense acceptance belonging subsequently enable communities live harmoniously society. However, they not adequately prepared this during own training. Therefore, study aims explore how can be incorporated effectively Methodology: Qualitative approach purposively selected 30 peer reviewed articles draw strategies could implemented acknowledge teacher higher education. Findings: found six areas institutions integrate into, such as learning, curriculum, assessment evaluation, research, human resources, order include promote it. sustained, there need committed collaborative between academics, curriculum developers, administrative staff. originality value study: underscores it integrated programs various ways.
